Birthday Dinner for Dad and Ruth

So here we are at the Grand Lux for Dad and Ruth’s birthdays.  Food was good….not so the service. At least they gave us a corner of the restaurant where Nate could scream at the top of his lungs and no one would notice.  Happy birthday, Dad and Ruth!

Nate at the Park

We slathered Nate in sunscreen and took him to the park today.  Since it was late in the day Nate was tired and refused to smile, but he had fun nonetheless….except on the slide.  He was ok with playing in the sand but he especially enjoyed pushing the toy lawnmower around.  A gardener is a respectable profession, I guess.

Mountain Biking in Mammoth

Berto, Bo, Ed, Steve and I took a road trip to Mammoth over the weekend. Somewhat gravelly and loose up at the top (Skid Mark) but conditions were much better on the lower half. The flow through Bridge the Gap > Brake Through > Seven Bridges was so much fun. At the end of the day, nobody came away unscathed as our bodies were battered and bruised. A few laps in the pool, a dip into the jacuzzi, and some braughwurst / beer / Advil and our pain vanished.

We spent Sunday exploring the various lakes in the area, then a leisurely drive back to civilization.

Nate’s Shots

So Nate got his shots today. Not one or even two….but FOUR!!!  I would be so pissed if I was him.  But he took it like a Hwang….did the ultrasonic scream for around 10 seconds, then wailed for just a minute or two. He’s a good kid.
